FPBlob Chorus Ear Training
Blob Chorus Ear Training: This educational game is already used in thousands of schools to introduce children to pitch and improve their musical ear for notes. Each of the blobs in the chorus sing a note then King Blob sings his note. The aim of the game is to identify the blob that sing the same note as King Blob. How to Connect a MIDI Keyboard or Other MIDI Device to GarageBand

1. Select a MIDI device with
    (a) low power requirements, or purchase a powered USB hub., and
    (b) that uses the universal MIDI drivers (does not require custom drivers - which cannot be installed on an iPad).

2. Purchase the Apple Camera Connection Kit.

3.  Plug the MIDI device into the USB Hub and the USB hub into the Apple Camera Connection Kit (or if the MIDI device is low powered, skip the USB hub and plug directly into the Apple Camera Connection Kit.

4. Plug the Camera Connection Kit into the iPad charging port.

5. Run GarageBand and select an instrument that can be controlled by MIDI (any of them except digital audio tracks).

Note:  If there is no sound from GarageBand when playing the instrument, then
(a) check your volume level - GarageBand often resets the volume for the latest device connected,
(b) wait - sometimes it takes a while for everything to connect internallly,
(c) unplug and replug the Camera Connection Kit and wait again,

If no success, double check all steps above.  MIDI devices can control iPad instruments in GarageBand and in many other sound apps - but try GarageBand first.

One last thought:  some Camera Connection Kits have USB Audio out, and so the iPad audio is sometimes directed to that output instead.  Be sure to listen for the sound where it is being directed.

Little Kids Rock:  http://www.littlekidsrock.org
This is an “up-and-coming" movement that is having a tremendous impact on music education across the nation.  I fully expect there to be an increasing influence from this group in years to come.

Quaver Music - https://www.quavermusic.com/Default.aspx

Tammy Folstad
Plickers Web Site:  https://www.plickers.com
Download Plickers for iPad:  https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/plickers/id701184049?mt=8
Plickers - lets you do quizzes and get immediate feedback from each member of the class.  That and Kahoot.it (demonstrated by Nadine) provide two great polling options for students.  Both permit formative assessment where the teacher may change the direction and focus of the class based on student performance and understanding, and summative assessment with a high degree of accountability for each student.  Plickers only requires one iPad for scanning student responses, but you do have to print and/or laminate numerous response cards.

Nadine J
Kahoot.it has many uses in the classroom, and your example of a quizz on Sing, Sing, Sing was excellent!  That, and Plickers (demonstrated by Tammy) provide two excellent polling options for students.  Kahoot it requires an iPad for each student, but you do not have to laminate and distribute laminated response cards.
